Community Education for active aging: Experience in construction from self-development

Population aging is a global concern. Active must. The projects and actions that promote their development sustainability must increase. Community education can contribute in sustained way to active aging, from the conception of sociocultural projects. Villa Clara, province center Cuba, has very old Popular Councils. Consejo Hospital-Chamberí one them constitutes research context. This study aimed identify potential for designing community project elderly this Hospital-Chamberí. qualitative used Methodology Self-Development (MCS), which proposes fundamental epistemological practical paradigm develop educational transformative processes communities. It structured five stages, two have been applied so far. We identified recognition problem, willingness participate actively, existence available public spaces non-existence purpose as some strengths weaknesses will enable design future self-development.
